Venom is a fictional Marvel Comics character who made his first in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 in 1988. Venom is a liquid, slimy alien life form and requires a host to survive.

2018’s solo Venom movie starred by Tom Hardy will be in theaters on October 5th. However, this standalone film will not be featuring Spider-Man. This film is produced by Sony and Marvel but is not connected to the Marvel Studios MCU. Although, Tom Holland is cast in the movie but only as Peter Parker and not Spider-Man.

What makes Venom the gruesome violent entity is Spider-Man and Eddie Brock. The first appearance of the symbiote was in Volume 1 issue 252. In this issue, the symbiote had bonded with Spider-Man. The symbiote enhanced his abilities and gave him an unlimited supply of web fluid. But what Peter did not know about the symbiote was that it was absorbing his powers and slowly taking over him. It had changed his attitude, his behavior, his aggression, and his reputation as a hero and a civilian.

“Edward “Eddie” Brock was a disgraced journalist for the Daily Bugle who bonded with a mysterious symbiote and became the super-villain  known as Venom to exact revenge on his arch nemesis Spider-Man. Overtime however Venom would soon become an anti-hero and eventually a “Lethal Protector” of the innocent.”- Eddie Brock

That is what makes Venom, Venom. Since Sony doesn’t have the rights to Spider-Man anymore, how will Sony pull off a Venom movie without Spider-Man?

The first official teaser trailer for Venom was released on February 8. There are a lot of mixed reviews about the trailer. (Possible Spoilers For Venom Teaser Trailer). Many of the reviews were upset and angry that they didn’t get to see what the Venom symbiote actually looked like. First of all, it’s a TEASER trailer. Teaser trailers tease and give glimpses of how the movie is going to look.

Second of all, trailers aren’t supposed to reveal too much of the movie. If they reveal too much there isn’t going to be any hype for the movie because its all in the trailer. If it is too little then no one is going to even look at the movie, but the main reason why fans are disappointed in the movie is that there’re glimpses of the symbiote and Venom was a no-show.

There was a sculpture design from Mikkel Frandsen that was believed to be the Venom Design. Sony had announced that this design was not theirs. Maybe Sony will show a character design or just keep teasing us with these trailers.

“What’s Venom gonna look like?” McFarlane told “It’s an R-rated movie, how ‘R’ are they going to go? To me, that’s the question. Are they going to go a ‘little bit R’? Venom’s a monster to me, and to me — are they going to make him a monster or are they going to make him a man? Are they going to humanize him? That’s what we gotta find out.”
