Around 9:40 this morning September 25th, Students at Harvest middle school walked out of their first period and smelled a familiar scent to us all: smoke.

This brought back memories of the fires in fall 2018  that destroyed many homes and caused a panic in the bay area.

The cause of the most recent fire was caused by a man who set out to steal copper from the inside of power poles on mare island. The fire was reported from what we could find at 3:07 a.m and was contained at 8:48 and had burned 10 acres.

The fires last year and the year before caused many people to lose jobs, homes, and loved ones. Both years, Harvest lost almost three weeks of school.

California has always been prone to wildfires but in recent years these wildfires have increased numbers and in multitude( most likely due to global warming). So stay alert!
