Over the summer, 10 of our HMS teachers went to Washington, D.C., including … Mrs. Banta, Mrs. Jones, Mr. Paniagua, Ms. Clark, Mr. Flores, Mrs. Abrams, Mrs. Pridy, Mr. Lewis, Ms. Alves, and Mrs.Chandran… to participate in the International Baccalaureate Conference of the Americas 2014.
These teachers all had lots of fun, but also had lots of work to do. They spent their mornings working together at trainings. They even got to meet the president of the IB Middle Years Program and see the government bodies, such as the Capitol, The White House, and the Supreme Court.
“,” Mrs. Banta said.
The IB program is important to our school because not only does it help teachers teach better, but it also helps the students learn more. While the teachers were in D.C. they also got to talk to teachers from all around the Western Hemisphere in learning workshops.
When in these workshops, the teachers also shared ideas with each other and learned how to make the I.B. program better for the students.
They are very excited about the new direction for HMS.
