Unpredictable Acts of Nature

A earthquake is a series of vibrations caused in the earth’s crust by sudden bursts and recoils of rocks in which a rubber band like strain has been slowly assembling. And as for the earthquake in Napa it hit us with a 6.0! That meant a large crash in which the tectonic plates collided to cause damage where the plates hit hardest.

After an earthquake there are aftershocks that can be worse or lighter. In the events of the earthquake in Napa, many of our older buildings fell and streets and sidewalks were damaged as well. Most homes suffered some type of earthquake related damage.

All Napa K12 schools were closed for two days. One school, Blue Oak, was shut down for a while longer than the rest.
